The end of the academic the year is almost here. This is a great time to reflect on year's successes and to celebrate the wins that we have collectively achieved.
Let's celebrate! Encourage your faculty to attend commencement to celebrate with and show support for our graduating students and their families. Full regalia is required. Additional information on the May commencement ceremonies can be found here. The morning ceremony is for A&S, CEHHS, and UNL Engineering. The afternoon ceremony is for CBA, CFAM, CPACS, and IS&T.

General Education & Dual Enrollment
General Education Assessment 2023-2024
The General Education Committee reviews assessment data for general education courses according to a three-year cycle. The Committee will be reviewing all courses next year (2023-2024) that satisfy Fundamental Academic Skills, Social Sciences, and Natural/Physical Science requirements. General Education courses should collect data on the relevant general education learning outcomes at least annually, or every time the course is delivered if offered more infrequently. Courses on next year's cycle can satisfy the assessment requirement in one of two ways:
Assessing general education outcomes using common rubrics located in Canvas. Faculty are encouraged to use this approach to streamline data collection and reporting. Instructions and directions for using common rubrics are located at this link.
Completing this template to summarize general education assessment activities in the course since the last time is was on the assessment cycle.
Units should aim to complete the requirement by June 2024 using one of the approaches outlined above. Please email Matt Tracy if you have questions or would like assistance planning your approach to general education assessment next year.

Detachment 470's Commissioning Ceremony

This is our hallmark event every year...the ceremony to recognize Det 470's newest 2nd lieutenants entering the USAF/USSF. This evert is scheduled for 10:00 and typically runs 2-3 hours.
The inaugural exhibition, In the Beginning: The Artist Samuel Bak, offers a chronological and thematic selection of Bak's paintings and drawings from 1946 through 2022.
Bak selected these works to showcase the arc of his artistic career over eight decades. The exhibition features watercolors and drawings done in the Vilna ghetto during the Nazi occupation of the city, abstract works from the sixties, and his renowned metaphysical paintings.
